ADA has implemented various projects in different sectors. Under the Food Security and Livelihoods Sector, ADA has fast hand experience in managing Livelihoods support projects included cash transfer programming, Cash for Work, micro-finance and Income generating activities, rehabilitation of irrigation canals and distribution of Agricultural Inputs.
Through funding from UNFAO Somalia, UNOCHA, UNWFP, ADA has implemented more than 11 Livelihood and Agricultural support and development infrastructure project in the regions of Bay, Middle and Lower Juba and in Gedo regions of Southern Somalia between 2009 and 2013. In Lower and middle juba region, ADA has been implementing WASH and Nutrition programmes from 2009-2013. This project was funded by CHF through UNOCHA and UNWFP for the nutrition’s in Kismayo town, in Bay region, ADA has implemented livelihood projects funded by CHF through UNOCHA in 2013.
Under the E.U Food Facility Project, ADA has supervised the construction of three Market sheds Jilib town, Hargeisa yarey under Jilib district and Kamsuuma village in Jamaame district, Lower and Middle Juba regions respectively. The construction of market sheds sought to help farmers market and sell their produce to customers in decent and hygienic sheds.
ADA has enormous experience in the implementation of various projects which included Cash for Work, construction and rehabilitation of strategic water catchments in various regions which includes Bay, Middle and Lower Juba and Gedo region.
ADA has been instrumental in training and capacity building of the Lead farmers for both Agro-pastoralist and riverine farmers mainly in water use, maintenance and rehabilitation of commonly used and strategic water catchment and promoting Good Agronomic Practices in most of the food insure regions of Somalia.
